Fair Little Camper

Ella has an action packed weekend ahead. We plan to wake up early tomorrow (Saturday) morning to go to the MN State Fair. We have two major goals to accomplish there - see Mom's scrapbook pages at the Creative Arts building (where Mommy won 2nd place) and enter Ella in the annual BabyWalk - a fun little competition sponsored by a local talk radio station - KSTP AM 1500. Basically, hundreds of families line up, go on stage and say their baby's name to the two talk show hosts who then judge whether the name is acceptable or not. If it is, you are entered to win fabulous prizes, usually including a high end stroller and other fun toys, if your name is not acceptable, you are entered to win the crappy garage sale stroller. You can listen online at http://am1500.com/ between 10 and noon CST.

Then of course, because we never do anything the easy way - ie: planning one action filled event per day, we're leaving the fairgrounds, stopping home for lunch then switching cars. The other car is already packed up and ready to go on Ella's first camping adventure! We're staying one night. We are using our "new" tent (we've had it a year and a half and haven't camped with it yet) which is much larger than our previous tent - 6 person vs. 2 person. We're even bringing our inflatable mattress since we're getting old! It should be fun though and the weather looks like it's going to be amazing once the cold front comes through this evening. So nice, I'm packing a blanket sleeper for Ella because it might be pretty cool Saturday night into Sunday morning. (Which I hope she fits into because she hasn't worn a blanket sleeper in months. It's rated 6 mos - and she's 8, but she still fits into 6 mos. stuff.)

Sunday, we'll come home and "relax" which at our house, is doubtful! :)

Ella visited with her Great Grandpa and Grandma Gutt this week.

Four generations of Gutts.

Ella's getting a little sensitive about her age!

Okay, I'll let you see it...
