Ella's been on a little strike from baby food. She'll take a few bites and then purse her lips and refuse to open for the spoon. But, if you hold a piece of cheese, a Cheerio or a noodle in front of her, mouth opens right up. She likes to chew things now. Now if I could just get her to eat off the spoon again, I'd mix noodles with her baby food so she could chew. But, I'm not too worried, she's still getting the majority of her nutrition from milk, which she drinks like a champ. This morning, she did eat her banana oatmeal well - and Cheerios.
I'm working on creating a play room for her. We have the room right off our bedroom which we don't use for anything except the treadmill, ironing board and laundry storage. I figure it would be a great place to put big toys - and maybe even her Little Tikes playhouse - but that's pretty big. I scored a great Pottery Barn-like club chair from craigslist for FREE! I made a slipcover out of it with some soft material and it's so comfy. I've printed photos from my favorite book, Hondo and Fabian which I'm going to hang. I'll have some before and after pics soon!
Ella is napping, when she awakens, we have some errands to run. Hopefully she wakes up a little cheerier than she has been this morning - a bit of a grump.
Her mood, as evidenced by this picture - this is the best smile I could get from her. Not typical of the usually smiley baby girl.
In awesome Mommy news - I fit into pants I haven't worn since May '07 when I had to buy some pants to finish the school year that were a size larger than usual! I tried these same pants on last month and there was no hope of getting them past my thighs. Perhaps my few workouts and periodic runs are actually helping! Perhaps the old saying on post-baby weight loss - nine months up, nine months down - is actually true.
I'm hungry. :)
