Sunday afternoon, my parents had us over for the great task of getting some family photos done before Chelsey headed off to Chicago for grad school. It was a beautiful day and we were excited to go. Of course, there had to be a hitch. The girls had been upstairs playing when a black Sharpie marker was uncovered in our desk drawer and then used on Lillian’s face. We aren’t entirely sure who did the coloring as Ella had Sharpie on her hands, but Lillian had Sharpie everywhere. Thankfully, our desk was the only inanimate object to receive a few lines and the lone marker was later recovered in the girls’ room. Luckily, we learned that baby wipes do a magnificent job of cleaning Sharpie off of skin and Lillian was now whisker free in time for photos. It was only when we were getting her out of the car, in the sunshine, did we see that she had black lines all over her scalp. The girl looked as though she was marked for brain surgery. Luckily, the photos weren’t going to be close-ups, so off we went to snap photos of Lillian and her road mapped head.
Many photos were snapped, here are the highlights…
And if you’ve heard the phrase “herding cats” – that is what it is like when you try to get two busy girls to cooperate with photos. Here are the outtakes…
And then some general merriment…
