Mid-March House Update

It’s been a month since I updated on the house. I’m there every few days and take plenty of photos. Last time I updated, we’d just received our stucco and cabinets…

Right before Valentine’s Day, the house had its stonework laid, including the fireplace inside. Our backpack rack was installed by the garage door and all of the trim was painted.

Our utility sink had been forgotten, so a hole was cut for that cabinetry, and Lillian remained goofy.

Walls were painted.

Bathroom tile started!

Our air conditioner arrived. It’s large. Hooray!

Our lot had a preliminary cleaning in preparation for our driveway.

The sunsets out our backyard continued to paint the sky.

We got a driveway! Our fancy dining room ceiling was installed! We got reverse locked out (the temp door knob on the patio door is reversed so we were locked out of the back patio) so Chelsey crawled through the window to unlock the patio door.

Garage doors!

Graded dirt for our yard! Much nicer.

We arrived to visit and the electrician was there – he showed us…working lights! FUN!

Our finished ceiling. The girls were so excited to be able to finally see their bathroom without a flashlight app on our phones.

The same morning we saw our new, working lights, the posts were put in for our fence. When we came back later the same day, fence!

That’s the last month of construction of our house. Lots of other things happened that aren’t quite as photo worthy, but still important. The AC was connected, other wiring done, the outside spigots work, the little stickers that alert you that your outlet is a GFCI were placed on the outlet plates. The house even got it’s first rough cleaning. The tub that had been filled with building debris, paint splatters and dried grout and caulk is sparkling. The windows no longer have paint and caulk on them. Things are really shaping up. This week’s progress should include, steps off the back patio, installation of our real front door, counter tops, and more painting. Once counter tops are installed, then the kitchen backsplash.

One day, if you see a strange woman who broke into your house just to use your amazingly-awesome, gigantic bathtub... don't be alarmed. It's just me. :)
