Easter Ella

We had a wonderful Easter filled with family and glorious weather. On Saturday, after church, we hosted the Straight Family at our little house for dinner. We had a great time, full of laughter, as usual. Ella was her friendly self and very happy to be passed from family member to family member. She even played a rousing game of ball with Chelsey and showed off her seal crawl.

Sunday, we were off to Great Grandma and Grandpa's house. More food, more family, but this year, the egg hunt was back! When I was growing up, we'd have these massive Easter egg hunts with all of the grandkids and usually around 160 plastic eggs filled with candy and money. There were always a few that were never found and a few that were chewed apart by wildlife - but it was always a blast. This year, the hunt was back on a smaller scale, with 61 eggs to find, and no candy - only money in the eggs! That was exciting! Ella found 11 eggs, with a lot of help. Her favorite part was to take the eggs out of her basket and throw them on the ground. Ella is a big fan of gravity. Ella kept up in great spirits, even two hours after her typical nap time, when I gave her a snack and then she fell asleep in my arms. Eventually, I laid her on the floor where she finished her nap sacked out while others watched golf.

After those festivities, we went over to Nana and Papa's house, grabbed a light dinner and visited. Ella was in a great mood and loved her Easter basket full of goodies. A dog named Buddy came to visit and that was Ella's favorite part. Buddy was a small dog with lots of energy and very friendly. He loved giving Ella kisses and she loved to receive them. She just loved him and she would say "woof!" to him.

Monday we had a nice, relaxing day. I put Ella in these cute overalls we got from a friend's garage sale, and lo and behold, I suddenly have a little girl, rather than a baby!
