A Little Off the Top

Lily gives me this frowny face all the time. She's probably judging my mothering. I kind of think she looks like a grouper.

It happened. It happens to nearly every child at some point. It usually upsets the mother more than the child, which was true in Lily's case, Lily only squawked for a second. However, when I did it to Ella, she was older and there was less blood. If this had happened to Ella at six weeks, we may have ended up at the ER. Lily got a bandage, two actually (Nexcare of course), and a mitten over it.
Clearly, she's protecting her other finger tips from my wrath...

I cut the tip of Lily's thumb while cutting her nails. I thought for sure she'd be lethargic from all of the blood loss, given her small stature. I may have been over-reacting. Me? noooo.... probably.

Luckily, we were able to recover from the bloodletting to go have pancakes with Nana, Papa and Nathan and then visit Julie and her new baby, Oliver.

Who's the newest baby in this picture?? Hint: One of these babies is two weeks old (see Lily's age above)...Oliver was a big guy, coming into the world at 10 pounds, 2 oz. Lily is probably getting to that mark now...

At one point, Ella pointed at the blanket and said, "Two babies!" When I asked her to kiss Lily, she even got the right baby. She knows which one is her sister. Clearly, it's the one wearing one mitten.

Happy Grandparents

Sisters with their newest grandchildren...and the best we could do getting Ella in the photo.

Today, I brought the girls to get their photo with the Easter Bunny. It went well. In that, the photo was taken and they gladly accepted my payment for that disaster. Much like our Santa photo, the words "I'm okay with crying" were used. *snap* photo complete. But, I'll post that later...

I bought a bunny hat at Target. Who could resist? Above is Lily's initial reaction to it.

Wait, you're saying I look cute? I'm okay with this crazy hat in that case!
