Off the Chart!

It's official, Lily is off the growth chart for her height. Ella was always in the 90th percentile, as had Lily been, but now...over 100%

Lillian had her four month exam yesterday and it all went well. Here are the stats:
Weight: 12 pounds, 14 ounces - 50 %
Length: 26 3/4 inches - 100 + %
Head: 50 %

Lily even recovered quicker from her shots, but unfortunately, the aftermath hasn't been as easy. She's been extremely cranky, feverish, runny nose and low appetite. All normal, but all heartbreaking. We had a rough night. Lily woke at 1:10, 2:15, 3:30, and 5:30. Each of those wakings resulted in me being up with her 15-30 minutes. It was like reliving the newborn days. Finally, at 6, I brought her to bed with us thinking she'd sleep better. Nope. She still woke every few minutes fussing. Today, she's been napping a lot, eating a little and crying a lot. But, this too shall pass.

Poor Ella was strutting around the office as she has at every previous visit, thinking she was in the clear. Ella even got to wear the doctor's big bracelet during the exam. But then, two nurses came in with a tray full of blood collection supplies. Back when Ella had her newborn screening, she had a hemoglobin abnormality, like Lily. It was supposed to be checked at 9 months, but because we switched pediatricians within the office around that time, it never happened. As long as we were there...it happened. Ella, thankfully, did not throw up. She did cry, break into a sweat, gag and scream. She recovered quickly and was able to pick out three stickers and a deck of cards from the special purple box. Thankfully, Ella's blood draw hasn't had any residual effects because two unhappy little people today would just be miserable.
