Ella’s Last Day

Ella had her last day at Garden of Hope on May 31. As typical for Ella, getting a decent picture of her to commemorate the last day was nearly impossible. She’s always on the move, standing sideways or looking behind her. My favorite is the finger near the nose. But, we persevered and got a semi decent photo of the last day of Ella’s sophomore year of preschool.

And two of the rejects

My little girl is growing up, she’s losing her baby face and becoming all kid. Ella has grown about 2 1/2 inches this year and gained 3 pounds.

The evening of the last day was the end of the year program and celebration. I’m happy to report that we did not have any vomit to clean up during the program, unlike our appearance at Christmas. That was a relief. Just to be safe, I did give the girls a rather bland colored dinner beforehand. Sometimes you need to stack the deck in your favor.

Ella did perform a little more at this program than at Christmas. She is always busy watching the audience, scanning the crowd, she just doesn’t want to miss a thing, even if that means she misses out on the singing!

There was a song in which the children got to use the rhythm sticks. Each had a set under their seats, however, when it was time to whip out the sticks, Ella couldn’t locate hers with the poofiness of her dress! She kept checking but just couldn’t locate them. Initially, she just made do with her own hands, but once Ms. Maria gave up her sticks to Ella – look out world! Ella felt the rhythm and was ready to roll! Big smile and sticks rocking, Ella was a happy girl!

Onto year three! A year that will also include Lily in the Garden! Oh boy!
