Aunt Chelsey’s birthday is the 5th of July. Upon hearing this, the girls were beyond ecstatic to create birthday cards for her to tuck in her birthday box. These two went to work with such dedication and perseverance, I was pretty impressed. The doors to the art cupboard were thrown open and work began. Markers, colored pencils, crayons, stickers and then the scissors were implemented to create the masterpieces. Lily decided that cutting wasn’t precarious enough, she had to add an extra level of thrill to it by perching on her scooter so she could cut in style.
Not having a dining room table has worked out well for the girls’ art. They’ve been spreading all over to work on their creations. I figured they’d use the open space for bike riding, but they’ve surprised me and gone the artistic route.
On Chelsey’s birthday, the girls gave her a call. They’ve finally reached the age where they can have a conversation. Every once in a while we have the one sided conversation where they will only nod in response or will set the phone down and wander off, but we’re getting there. Seeing then chatting with Chelsey on the phone was just adorable, but sure made them seem older than their 4 1/2 and 2 1/2 years.
