Ella's blog will be a year old next week. That means Ella will be a year old soon! She turns 11 months tomorrow! :)
I'm planning her party which we'll try to keep rather low-key for the sake of the birthday girl not freaking out. However, people keep asking me what the theme is...theme? For a one year old? Really?

Most kids parties are based around a child's interests. Here are Ella's interests:
- the kids on Jon & Kate Plus 8
- our cat
- coughing for recreation
- tearing up magazines
- undoing diaper tabs
- church nursery
- the corner of our rug

Somehow, I'm doubting Party City has any themes that fit around that. We'll have to take a trip there and see what we can piece together based on Ella's wide variety of interests! :) Maybe we'll do cats and call it good.

Every year, the Star Tribune does a coloring contest on Thanksgiving called "Oh You Turkey." My sister Chelsey and I would race to the paper, and still do to find it and color it even though we've aged out of the contest years ago. This year, Chelsey has been sending Ella intimidating text messages via Loran's phone about the coloring contest. I think secretly, Chelsey's just afraid she's going to lose to Ella's amazing coloring abilities...haha! Here's a picture we sent to Chelsey of Ella practicing her game face. If Chelsey is reading - it's on, Thanksgiving. Place: Grandma's. BYOTurkeyColoringSheet.

Intimidating huh?

She's so cute! The theme for Simon's birthday party is "make it through the afternoon without screaming, permanent injuries, or cake smeared on the wall."

Oh my word that is quite funny about the contest. I laughed out loud. Lucky my kids aren't here.

Hope you're having a good week!
