So, it was Christmas. We were busy. It snowed. A lot.
Ella enjoyed opening gifts, her gifts, others gifts, it didn't matter. She was the life of every party and brought smiles wherever she went. I can't believe this is her third Christmas.
We had our little family celebration on Wednesday the 23rd with our "traditional" dinner at Four Seasons. It had started to snow quite a bit while we were there so we didn't drive around to look at Christmas lights. Instead, it was straight home to the gifts awaiting under the tree.
The snow kept piling up, but we forged on. We went to church and then to my parents' house as planned. Luckily, we'd planned to sleep over there so we didn't have to worry about the still piling snow. We were snowed in with lots of food, a fire in the fireplace, crazy antics and a new Wii.
Because one of our Christmas celebrations was pushed to New Year's Day, we were able to sleep in, have a great breakfast prepared by Chelsey, visit with Santa when "he" came and relax. Then we made the treacherous two block trek to Loran's parents' house where we were greeted by a friendly snowman by the front door and filled up on more delicious food, family and gifts. And, when we arrived home late that night, our driveway, sidewalk and doors were already plowed/shoveled out!
Santa arrived at our home Christmas night (because of the blizzard) so we were able to peek in our stockings on the 26th. Later that evening, we attended another Christmas at my grandparents' house where there was once again more food, family and gifts. Unfortunately, Loran wasn't feeling well, so he had to sit that celebration out.
The week has been a blur of Christmas celebrations, cleaning and organizing. Now all of the Lily prep feels like it's in fast forward. Onward towards 2010!
