Lillian at Two Months

The two month stats are in!

Weight: 11 pounds, 2 oz - 50%
Length: 24 inches! - 90%
Head - 75%

Lily has slight reflux which makes her stuffy in the mornings and some eczema on her face. Other than that, she's doing wonderfully! The doctor even noted how round her head was...owing it to tummy time. In reality, she doesn't get a lot of tummy time as there are not a lot of opportunities when it's safe because of Ella. But, we try to get some in during nap time. Otherwise, Lily spends a lot of time on our shoulders, working her neck strength.

Poor baby had five vaccines. One was oral, so she got that one first. It's chilled and because Lily isn't used to cold liquids, she was a little goofy with it. The nurse would squirt a little in and Lily would house it in her cheek and not swallow. But, she'd smile and coo at us. The nurse was squeezing her little cheeks trying to get her to swallow. It took quite awhile to get that one down because of the extra cuteness that Lily was laying on trying to get out of swallowing. The four shots were not as fun. Two in each little leg. Lily did not recover quickly from it. She was crying so hard and loud that she broke into a sweat. It took about fifteen minutes to get her calm. She slept the whole way home and then some. I left her in the car seat while she was sleeping, but decided to wake her so she could eat before picking up Loran at the airport. Bad move. She was screaming harder than I've ever heard her cry. Just in pain, tears streaming down her face and a pleading little look in her eyes. It was heartbreaking to not be able to take away her pain. I did give her some baby Tylenol. Ella went into "helper mode" and brought me every pacifier and burp cloth she could find. I eventually had five pacifiers in my hand. I put Lily back in her car seat where she seemed most comfortable and Ella rocked the seat. I thought Ella would freak out from the loud, intense crying, but she didn't. She seemed to genuinely care for Lily. The combination car ride and Tylenol were just what Lily needed. After a good night's sleep, she seems to be in good spirits this morning!

Poor Loran arrived home from Seattle last night to a screaming baby, crazy toddler, barfing cat and dead car battery. After attempting to jump my car, it was determined that the battery was too far drained to even jump. If an Audi S4, that sounds jet-like when you start it, can't get it going...it's a lost cause. Loran jumped into said Audi and raced to Wal*Mart to get a new battery before the store closed. Then came home to install it. Perhaps he was wishing for a longer flight, since he had been bumped up to first class. The reality on the ground was definitely less glamorous!
