A few weeks ago, Ella came home from school to inform us that the Biscuit Brothers would be in concert the upcoming weekend, and she was quite excited.
I thought, "Biscuit who?"
Ella has seen their performances in music class and loves them. We looked it up and they were performing at the high school with the orchestra. I'm not a big fan of kid's music, but I'm a fan of Ella, so off we went!
The Biscuit Brothers have a PBS show, where they teach music concepts on their farm. Ella was excitedly telling us about the characters including one of her favorites, Tiny Scarecrow. Even Lily was thrilled and she had no idea what we were doing - clearly Ella could be in marketing.
The high schoolers had set up activities like face painting and an instrument petting zoo.
We were seated in the auditorium in the center, ready to go!
Ah, to be a child and able to fold yourself up in a theatre seat!
After the concert, the children could meet the Biscuit Brothers, Buford and Dusty. At first Ella was reluctant, and Lily stepped right up. Ella joined and is glad she did.
As we sat and ate, Ella and Lily were facing the dining room and I see Ella's eyes get huge. She completely freezes with a smile on her face. Who walks up to our table? Buford. He stops and chats with us and Ella is completely starstruck. Once he sat down with his meal a few tables back, Ella kept glancing behind to see him and would giggle. It was so cute. Some other concert-goers were also there and formed a semi-circle around Buford's table. I'm sure the teens who were grabbing a bite before the techno paint party happening nearby were confused by the guy in overalls with an entourage of children.
It's safe to say, we are now all fans of the Biscuit Brothers. Their show is now one of our favorites.
